Breakout Session Speaker

Bio:

Bishop Evelio Menjivar was born in Chalatenango, El Salvador. He attended St. John Vianney College Seminary in Miami, receiving a bachelor’s degree in philosophy. He obtained a master’s degree in theology from the Pontifical University of Saint Thomas Aquinas in Rome. In 2004, he was ordained to the priesthood, and in 2023, he was named Vicar General and ordained as an auxiliary bishop of the Archdiocese of Washington. He is currently a member of the Priest Personnel Board, Administrative Board, the College of Consultors, the Priest Council, and the Board of Directors of the Maryland Catholic Conference and Catholic Charities. During his ministry, he has actively supported workers and promoted social justice for immigrants. He speaks English, Spanish, and Italian.
